TYPOLOGICAL LOSSES ASSESSMENT FROM OBSERVED SEISMIC DAMAGE OF EXISTING ITALIAN RC BUILDINGS

In this work the seismic risk of existing Reinforced Concrete (RC) buildings is analyzed based on damage data observed following two Italian earthquakes. The seismic vulnerability is assessed in probabilistic terms by means of typological fragility curves from which economic loss curves are derived. Buildings stock was collected by the Italian Civil Protection Department with the AeDES form, and currently available in the Database of Damage Observed (Da.D.O.). Then, from the typological fragility curves deduced with a macro-seismic approach a procedure is carried out to derive the Expected Annual Losses (EALs). Finally, also a numerical approach is carried out for deriving fragility curves. The paper concludes illustrating and comparing the results obtained whit the two approaches considering.
