Recently, after publishing several papers regarding our experience with polyacrylamide hydrogel-based filler injections for rehabilitation of HIV-related facial lipoatrophy, 1,2 we reported 3 cases of tardive onset complications.3 In this report, we described one patient who showed a progressive hardening of the injected tissue not treated, a second one sent to us through e-mail with attached pictures showing a bilateral stable swelling developed in the injected area, and one who was hospitalized due to the development of a huge facial abscess of the area previously injected with polyacrylamide hydrogel.
