This article is based on the talk I delivered on 16 September 2022, in the “Sezione Giovani” of the 108th National Congress of the Italian Physical Society, organized jointly with the Italian Association of Physics Students. A study of the exotic resonance X(3872) is presented, its production in the decay of neutral mesons is investigated using a sample of proton-proton collisions collected at $ \sqrt{s} = 13$ TeV with the CMS detector at the CERN LHC. This measurement, combined with analogue studies of the X(3872) production in charged B meson decays, can help to shed light on the puzzling nature of the X(3872) particle and in understanding QCD theory. The present analysis is currently under development and not yet approved by the CMS Collaboration.
