The aim of the present study is to highlight the tubular alterations in ADPKD patients compared to patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) of difernt pathogenesis. This is an observational, cross-sectional, single-center controlled study carried out at University Hospital “Policlinico Umberto I”, Sapienza University of Rome, involving 145 patients, of whom 37 were diagnosed with ADPKD and 108 with CKD. The exclusion criteria were the presence of diabetes mellitus, lithiasis, and tolvaptan therapy. At enrollment, blood gas analysis and evaluation of urinary pH using a pH-meter (Bench meter pH50+ DHS), instrument XS, 41012 Carpi (MO)—Italy) and urine concentration by specifc weight was performed.
