Global fashion moves between consumerism and irresponsible business. For some time, a shift from fast fashion to slow fashion has been sought, but sustainability often risks being mere greenwashing and social washing. The paper discusses some recent supranational initiatives that have moved in this direction to protect the environment and regulate the phenomenon of labour exploitation in the production chain. But it is still too early to speak of a fashion revolution.
