The mendicant friars settled early in Liguria, quickly deploying on the regional territory. This contribution attempts to combine the few data available with each other, drawing a map of their diffusion in the coastal strip, with particular attention to the dynamics of settlement, social incidence and cultural presence exercised by the major orders. In particular, the link with the main families of the civic nobility is underlined, as well as the reception among the lower strata of society.
