Microgrids provide a promising path toward a more flexible, and sustainable energy system. This article provides a comprehensive overview of forecasting and management of microgrinds, including monitoring and control techniques and focus on integrating new technologies and trends. Under the investigation the load and generation forecasting, energy storage management has been considered. In addition, we explore the challenges and opportunities of integrating electric vehicles, the Internet of Things, peer-to-peer energy trading platforms as weel as microforntend architecture into microgrids.
