In this study of the reactive intermediate difluorocarbene (CF2) with threshold photoelectron spectroscopy (TPES), the first adiabatic ionization energy (AIE) of CF2 was determined as (11.362±0.005) eV. However, this value did not take into account the lowering of the AIE, which arises from field ionization of high-n Rydberg states, by the extraction field (F) used. This Stark effect correction (δ) is 6.1 √F,[1] where δ is in cm−1 and F is in V cm−1. The value of F used was 100.0 V cm−1, which gives δ as 7.6 meV. Hence, the AIE should be increased by 7.6 meV to give a corrected AIE value of (11.370±0.005) eV.

Abstract
The authors would like to report a correction to this work. Hence, the AIE should be increased by 7.6 meV to give a corrected AIE value of (11.370±0.005) eV.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
