In this dialogue, the authors discuss the role of Croce’s thought in Croce’s philosophy of language. As is well known, since the second half of the 20th century the dialogue between the philosophi- cal-linguistic tradition and Croce’s thought has been particularly problematic.In recent years,however, there has been a different focus, that allows us to rethink some key concepts: the role of aesthetics in the century of the linguistic turn;the question of the‘two times’of Croce’s thought;the notion of sign, as opposed to that of expression; the role of communication as a human need.
