Edition of two new Latin unpublished inscriptions discovered in the excavations of the 1960s in Mustis (Tunisia) and known from some photographs of the Claude Poinssot Archive, in Paris. They give new in‑ formation about the importance of the Tetrarch period for the urban revival of this African community. Of particular interest is the first of these, concerning the dedication of a temple for Hercules, by the proconsul of Africa L. Helvius Aelius Dionysius, whose name, like that of the tetrarch Maximian, was later erased. In a third moment the dedication was updated, adding the name of the emperor Constans, son of Constantine, which in turn has been erased, probably during the usurpation of Magnentius.

Abstract
Edition of two new Latin unpublished inscriptions discovered in the excavations of the 1960s in Mustis (Tunisia) and known from some photographs of the Claude Poinssot Archive, in Paris. They give new in‑ formation about the importance of the Tetrarch period for the urban revival of this African community. Of particular interest is the first of these, concerning the dedication of a temple for Hercules, by the proconsul of Africa L. Helvius Aelius Dionysius, whose name, like that of the tetrarch Maximian, was later erased. In a third moment the dedication was updated, adding the name of the emperor Constans, son of Constantine, which in turn has been erased, probably during the usurpation of Magnentius.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
