The article aims to present the most relevant aspects of Alessandro Bausani’s contribution to the study of Persian historical syntax, considered both in relation to the time of the redaction of his degree thesis (1943), and in the light of the most recent acquisitions in this field of study. The second part of this study focuses on a topic, the syntactic function of past participles, on which Bausani’s analysis still represents a pioneering study and a starting point for future research.
