The evaluation of the effectiveness of higher education is a crucial aspect of competitiveness of modern economies. In this work, I investigate the quality and effectiveness of higher education (university) through the definition and the estimation of a multilevel mixture factor model (MMFM); in particular, I evaluate the external effectiveness of the university system on the basis of graduates’ job satisfaction one year after the degree, using data from an ALMALAUREA survey. The model allows to explore the phenomenon of job satisfaction at the graduate level and to classify the degree programs in groups with similar profile.

Abstract
The evaluation of the effectiveness of higher education is a crucial aspect of competitiveness of modern economies. In this work, I investigate the quality and effectiveness of higher education (university) through the definition and the estimation of a multilevel mixture factor model (MMFM); in particular, I evaluate the external effectiveness of the university system on the basis of graduates’ job satisfaction one year after the degree, using data from an ALMALAUREA survey. The model allows to explore the phenomenon of job satisfaction at the graduate level and to classify the degree programs in groups with similar profile.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
