This paper aims at analyzing the electromagnetic scattering of transverse magnetic (TM) waves impinging on a dimer of dielectric subwavelength scatterers. Our work provides a novel analytical method, based on amplitude weighted coefficients to describe the role of strong coupling in the molding of the total scattered field. The obtained results reveal to be an optimum tool to engineer electromagnetic and geometric features in order to get the desired transmitted field, without resorting to full wave simulations. Analytical results exhibit excellent agreement with exact numerical results obtained with COMSOL Multiphysics.

Abstract
This paper aims at analyzing the electromagnetic scattering of transverse magnetic (TM) waves impinging on a dimer of dielectric subwavelength scatterers. Our work provides a novel analytical method, based on amplitude weighted coefficients to describe the role of strong coupling in the molding of the total scattered field. The obtained results reveal to be an optimum tool to engineer electromagnetic and geometric features in order to get the desired transmitted field, without resorting to full wave simulations. Analytical results exhibit excellent agreement with exact numerical results obtained with COMSOL Multiphysics.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
