Leopardi e Warburg. Appunti per una lettura interdisciplinare

This study focuses on some aspects of Giacomo Leopardi’s and Aby Warburg’s critical reflection, starting from a lexical suggestion that seems to sensibly associate the two authors : a common meaning of the term "silence", intended as a search for movement in the work of art. In particular, the study is developed based on an examination and cross-comparison between selected passages of Leopardi’s 'Zibaldone' and Warburg’s 'Bilderatlas Mnemosyne', with the aim of showing some significant similarities about the power of literary or artistic work to produce a convincing illusion of life.
