This article presents a personal reading on the problem of philosophy in Spain, Latin America and Mexico and offers an approach to specific texts by María Zambrano, José Gaos, Leopoldo Zea and Carmen Rovira. The article considers the historical context in which the texts analyzed were written and critically comments on the possibility of weaving a common thread in the path they have traced. At the end of the text, readers are offered the link and the transcription of Carmen Rovira Gaspar’s intervention on the UNAM radio program El ser y el pronóstico del tiempo[The self and the weather forecast], about the question: What distinguishes Mexican philosophy? Some notes have been placed that allow a better explanation of the authors and the texts to which reference was made.
