The present guidance paper is aimed to update the previous ENETS guidelines on well-differentiated gastric and duodenal neuroendocrine tumours (NET), providing practical guidance for specialists in the diagnosis and management of gastroduodenal NET. Type II gastric NET, neuroendocrine carcinomas (NEC), and functioning duodenal NET are not covered, since they will be discussed in other ENETS guidance papers. The key questions discussed in the present paper are summarised in Table 1. Data were identified by MEDLINE database searches and expert opinion/recommendations given according to the best available evidence and the authors' experience. Each recommendation for treatment and diagnosis will have a level of evidence and grade of recommendation as per the GRADE system (Supplementary Table 1).
