Dioniso e la corona di luce. Iconografia e immaginario della figura di Dioniso nimbato

In this paper I would like to propose a re-reading experiment of theiconography of Dionysos with halo , through a description of the images repertoireof nimbated god and with an examination of the main thematics and narrativecontexts in which Dionysos is depicted with nimbus. Furthermore I would like todedicate space to examination of relationships between Dionysos and the light;the sidereal energy that compose the halo . The informations that will emergefrom this study, could reevaluate the rare and mysterious iconography of Dionysos with halo , which, unfortunately, it has been underestimated bycontemporary scholars.
