Dasein ist Design. An ontological discussion of design in the ecological crisis time

The present context of the Anthropocene and ecological crises make urgent a new epistemological vision of reality and a thought reform, able to transform our planning attitude ecologically to organize a differently habitable world, substantially overcoming the ontological division between nature and society. The paper intends to reflect on this evolving nature of design and how it can stimulate new dialogic, reflective and strategic approaches. This, through the description of the results of a collective and multidisciplinary dialogue promoted by the authors and focused on the Bio Revolution, understood as a double convergence – technological and cultural – between nature and artifice: a material but also multidimensional and multiverse convergence, that stimulates to address systemic changes, contemporary challenges and the very value of sustainability from a cultural perspective rather than a technological one.
