The study aims at evaluating the applicability of the LESO-QSV (Quality-Sensitivity-Visibility) method for the assessment of active solar installation on the Mediterranean architectural heritage. To this purpose, 10 significative case studies with the integration of photovoltaic and solar thermal system are evaluated using this method. This assessment is compared with the results of expert enquires realized on the same case studies by the Heritage Authorities, to define potential, limits, and possible modifications. Finally, the integration of the two methodologies with international policies allows the definition of an articulated set of formal characteristics of the solar system in heritage contexts.

Abstract
