Fairy tale suggestion, made up of heroes, victories and good has been the lifeblood of the Olympic Games for more than a century, with its motto Citius!, Altius!, Fortius! which marked the beat reactivated by Baron De Coubertin. From that moment on, the Olympics have become the engine of the world every four years, erasing borders and geography, using architecture as a bold manifestation of human physical and social enterprises. Over time, the summer editions have been joined by the winter ones, the first in Chamonix in 1924, then completed in the new millennium by the appearance of "youth" ones aimed at young athletes from 13 to 18 years old. Each edition brings with it symbols and contexts, challenges and tragedies, but above all it inherits an iconic narrative palimpsest able to move between the folds of art and architecture and of which the large sports facilities become the pretext shown by the images that follow. The stadiums, as machines of wonders, welcome the opening and closing choreography, ceremonies that each time call into question the relationship between figure and background of a prodigious reality culminating with the lighting of the brazier. Its fire, months before - is generated in the shadow of the columns of the Temple of Hera, precisely in Olympia, where everything originated.
