e article, starting from the novelties introduced about liturgical furnishings by the fruitful exchanges between Sicily and Campania, will investigate the consequences in the border area between Regnum and Patrimonium Petri, and especially in the city of Rome. The aim is to define, thanks to the study of sculptures, decoration materials and techniques, the still unresolved picture of some extraordinary Roman testimonies, intended to undermine the cultural monopoly of the Cosmati and to identify, in terms of artistic interaction, the existence of an unprecedented south-north trajectory for liturgical furnishings in Rome.
