The aim of this essay is to take into account how Covid-19 and the profound trauma associated with it is shown through the new international media landscape, in particular through the US television series, which before the others seem to have narrated this trauma of contemporary society. At least for the 21st century, tv series have become the culturally hegemonic form of storytelling, proving to be able to tell very long stories and allowing the characters to evolve over a particularly long period of time. In addition to that, the tv series, entering the home of the user, have created a bond with him/her based on greater intimacy, which has allowed a narration of the trauma at deeper levels. In particular, the already famous television series in which Covid has become the protagonist, such as Grey’s Anatomy conceived by Shonda Rhimes, together with some new Covid-themed television series as Love in the Time of Corona and Social Distance will be the privileged object of this essay, as this collective trauma has changed and is changing our world.

Abstract
The aim of this essay is to take into account how Covid-19 and the profound trauma associated with it is shown through the new international media landscape, in particular through the US television series, which before the others seem to have narrated this trauma of contemporary society. At least for the 21st century, tv series have become the culturally hegemonic form of storytelling, proving to be able to tell very long stories and allowing the characters to evolve over a particularly long period of time. In addition to that, the tv series, entering the home of the user, have created a bond with him/her based on greater intimacy, which has allowed a narration of the trauma at deeper levels. In particular, the already famous television series in which Covid has become the protagonist, such as Grey’s Anatomy conceived by Shonda Rhimes, together with some new Covid-themed television series as Love in the Time of Corona and Social Distance will be the privileged object of this essay, as this collective trauma has changed and is changing our world.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
