La misura degli uomini. Note sull’approccio quantitativo nell’architettura antica

This paper is focused on architectural energetics in archaeology, which examines the planning and the construction of the ancient building in order to address the cost of the monument in the political and social context in which it was built. The goals and methodology of this discipline are estimations of labour force, building materials and construction costs used in order to model the duration and logistics of specific building projects. This can lead to a deeper understanding of ancient construction. Therefore, the aim of this paper is to sketch out a theoretical framework of the modeling of labour force and construction costs.
