The aim of this study, in the context of Cultural Heritage enhancement, is the definition of a workflow for the construction of life size copies of statues with comparable sensorial qualities to the originals via contactless scanning methods and 3D printing to allow visually impaired people to experience the manufacts by touch. The process starts from a tangible piece and ends with a tangible copy passing through a virtual step, presenting a solution that marries the traditional silicon moulding techniques with the latest scanning technologies. The contribution investigates the workflow and procedures for reproducing models true to the originals with contained costs and true scientific value on one hand and offers a widely applicable process for everyone involved with conservation and exhibition of Cultural Heritage on the other. Nonetheless the quantitative aspects brought up during the research allowed us to define parameters and standards that will allow the topic to be explored to a greater extent further improving the obtained results.

Abstract
Nonetheless the quantitative aspects brought up during the research allowed us to define parameters and standards that will allow the topic to be explored to a greater extent further improving the obtained results.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
