Palazzo Briganti Bellini in Osimo, now owned by the Barberini, stands on one side on the Piazza del Comune and on the other on Via dell’Antica Rocca which, allows you to reach the highest hill in the city and the Cathedral of San Leopardo. It has a great compositional rigor of classical and Renaissance derivation, enriched by Ba roque elements that enhance itsgeometries. The restoration work by architect Andrea Vici in 1776 was mainly centered on the Borrominian-derived entrance portal on via Antica Rocca and on the monumental staircase designed to display the family’s famous collections from the Piceno, Roman and Greek periods. In addition, the historical architecture of the province of Ancona has someimportant features to highlight in cluding the use of locally produced brick. Currently the building is partlyuninhabited and needs restoration of both the facades and the internal rooms. Occasionally the owners open it to public events such as in 2013 for the 21st FAI Spring Day. This paper aims to present a proposal for an intervention that celebrates it as a museum of itself and at the same time enhances the agricultural culture of the building, of the city of Osimo itself and of the Marche.
