The paper presents the results of a monitoring related to the way the Italian newspapers presented the issue of the landings that occurred on the island of Lampedusa in the aftermath of the 2011 Arab crises. The high degree of complexity of the phenomenon required the media to change its agenda in order to provide adequate news coverage and interpretative keys useful to public opinion for a real understanding of the facts. The exceptional moments of debate that have arisen from these events and the consequent visibility that national information has given to the issue of landings have highlighted a process of redefinition of the most common interpretative frames used for the treatment of events that have been recognized as having a broader scope than the cases of landings that have always affected the coasts of our country. The logics with which the press has approached the relationship between the media and immigration under particular conditions of emergency have necessitated multiple levels of reading and analysis. Because of this need, it was deemed appropriate to identify the manifest and latent aspects of the media's treatment of political and news events related to landings, which have contributed to establishing particular opinions

Abstract
Because of this need, it was deemed appropriate to identify the manifest and latent aspects of the media's treatment of political and news events related to landings, which have contributed to establishing particular opinionsI documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
