The paper aims to address the topic of the outcomes of Greek migrations on the coast of the Gulf of Taranto in terms of settlement patterns and socio-cultural dynamics. The work will attempt to focus on characters, timing and degree of impact of the transformations that took place in the different sites located in three territories of the Ionian coast, the Tarantine countryside, the Siritide and Sibaritide, at the time in which the first Greek colonial settlements were to take place.
