In speculative Parallel Discrete Event Simulation, a fundamental concept is related to the Event Set. Multiple data structures have been used to implement it in the literature, but the general strategy entails having an event set for every Logical Process. Conversely, traditional sequential simulators typically employ a single event set for the whole simulation model. This paper explores the performance implications of an intermediate solution for multicore architectures, where a single event set is maintained for every worker thread.

Abstract
In speculative Parallel Discrete Event Simulation, a fundamental concept is related to the Event Set. Multiple data structures have been used to implement it in the literature, but the general strategy entails having an event set for every Logical Process. Conversely, traditional sequential simulators typically employ a single event set for the whole simulation model. This paper explores the performance implications of an intermediate solution for multicore architectures, where a single event set is maintained for every worker thread.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
