This note analyses a previously unpublished statue attributed to Ur-Ninĝirsu. This statue, together with another known example, are quoted as evidence of the new attire of Nanše priests during Ur III period, characterized by long wavy hair. The statue, known only by its inscription, represents instead a female character, opening and renewing a set of questions related to the relation between the subject depicted in a statue and its dedicator, to the sex and gender determination of people in cuneiform sources and iconography.
