Fibronectin is a glycoprotein synthesized by the liver. Characteristic plasma fibronectin levels are associated with various clinical conditions such as fulminant hepatic failure and cirrhosis. Eighteen patients (14 men and 4 women, average 47.5 ± 2.1 years) were evaluated preoperatively and at day 2, 8, 15 and 30 after surgery, by means of routine serum fibronectin evaluation. Fibronectin variations were compared to prothrombin time, transaminases, γGPT and bilirubin obtained at the same time. The postoperative course of this group of patients was uneventful. Mean values of serum fibronectin, low before intervention, rose significantly after transplantation (p < 0.001). The prothrombin time had a similar evolution and a significant correlation was observed in the comparison of the two parameters. In conclusion serum fibronectin level is an easy and useful marker of liver function.

Abstract
In conclusion serum fibronectin level is an easy and useful marker of liver function.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
