Profeti, politici e atei nelle discussioni tra Campanella e Naudé

Beyond biographical events and mutual misunderstandings, it may be interesting to reconstruct the operation performed by Gabriel Naudé on Campanella’s texts. It is an operation of absorption of many naturalistic and political themes, but also of amputation and in certain cases of reversal. This emerges clearly with regard to two themes: the figure of Moses and the natural religion. However, the central problem for the libertins érudits as for Campanella is to rethink the role of religion in society and the religion-politics relationship.
