Six lacunae in MS Laur. Plut. 70.6, the model of MS Vat. gr. 1359 that Deme- trios Raoul Kavakes transcribed in Rome in 1480, have been filled in the margins by Kavakes himself after the copying of the Vatican MS. This new identification sheds light on the history of the Florence MS and, more generally, on the fifteenth-century transmission of Herodotus between Byzantium and the West.
