Oltre il riciclo. Analisi del butto del castello di Miranduolo (Chiusdino, SI)

A medieval dump is a particular phenomenon that can be very important to understand the lifestyle habits adopted in that site. A vast dumping area, placed outside the defensive walls, has been identified in the castle of Miranduolo (Chiusdino-SI) and a large quantity of materials was recovered from this layer: potteries, archaeozoological remains, metals and glasses. But, this incredible context is not free of problems, because of residualities and intrusive materials can be located inside. So, it is very hard to define this dumping area chronologically and how it is be used by the society. To understand that, in this contribution I propose a maths analysis based on “weighted mean sum”. Adopting this method, we will be able to recognize the frequency of the main potteries between XI and XII century in Miranduolo's castle.
