The essay focuses on the relationship between Alba de Céspedes and the cinema during Italy’s fascist period. In those years, de Céspedes wrote cinematic novels, debated with the main exponents of Italian cinematography and contributed a column to the magazine «Film». This study aims to highlight the ‘forgotten’ case of a literary woman ‘lent to the cinema’, in the light of little-known documents and unpublished sources found in various places of preservation (private writings, press reviews, archival documents).
Il saggio pone l’attenzione sul rapporto di Alba de Céspedes con il cinema durante il ventennio fascista. In questo periodo l’autrice scrive racconti cinematografici, si confronta con i principali esponenti della cinematografia italiana e cura una rubrica sulla rivista «Film». Attraverso l’uso di documenti poco noti e fonti inedite identificate in diversi luoghi di conservazione (scritture private, rassegne stampa, documenti d’archivio), questo contributo mira a ricostruire il caso ‘dimenticato’ di una letterata ‘prestata al cinema’.
