The article outlines the advancement in the research pertaining to Proto-Indo-European as it is evidenced throughout the annual conferences of the Italian Society of Glottology (SIG). After a section considering the speeches pertaining to IE issues held during the meetings, the article analyzes the meaningful contributions that influential historical linguists made in the field of both Proto-Indo-European and ancient Indo-European languages on such occasions.
