Terahertz radiation has a strong impact on the international scientific community, including novel acceleration techniques for future compact accelerators. The INFN project TERA (Terahertz ERA) concerns strong R&D activities on THz technology and THz acceleration, thanks to a multidisciplinary collaboration among various INFN sections and Universities. Beside the development of high-intensity sub-ps THz source, which plays a central role in TERA, other activities are related to THz detectors, optics and optical modulators, THzdedicated waveguides and the study of high brightness electron bunch acceleration by THz pulses. In this talk, the TERA project will be illustrated and the partners role/activities will be discussed.

Abstract
Terahertz radiation has a strong impact on the international scientific community, including novel acceleration techniques for future compact accelerators. The INFN project TERA (Terahertz ERA) concerns strong R&D activities on THz technology and THz acceleration, thanks to a multidisciplinary collaboration among various INFN sections and Universities. Beside the development of high-intensity sub-ps THz source, which plays a central role in TERA, other activities are related to THz detectors, optics and optical modulators, THzdedicated waveguides and the study of high brightness electron bunch acceleration by THz pulses. In this talk, the TERA project will be illustrated and the partners role/activities will be discussed.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
