In the last years of XV and throughout the XVI centuries, many urban contexts are affected by the cultural, political and artistic ferment that the Renaissance brings with it. The concept of the city is reinterpreted in an ancient way as described by Vitruvius, a space in which to live in harmony, a place for social gathering, political organization and economic planning. The prince, whose cultural formation plays an increasingly important role, becomes the designer of the new urban-territorial system dominated by the fortress, the seat of power and a defensive bulwark. The building type of the fort-house also incorporates the building resulting from the conversion of medieval castles in favor of Renaissance buildings, with a renewed comfortable and pleasant appearance, without having to renounce its defensive capabilities. The study focuses on a digital generative rereading of the design logic that transformed Palazzo Cesi in Acquasparta (TR) from an ancient fortress into a Renaissance palace, based on rules shared at the time and widely distributed through the literature and similar architectural examples common on the national territory.

Abstract
The study focuses on a digital generative rereading of the design logic that transformed Palazzo Cesi in Acquasparta (TR) from an ancient fortress into a Renaissance palace, based on rules shared at the time and widely distributed through the literature and similar architectural examples common on the national territory.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
