This interview, carried out in March 2001, allows the Italian reader to get to know a very interesting figure in the political panorama of the twentieth century. This is Robert Allyn Brandt, in Sicily during the Second World War, as an infantry captain, then serving at the US Foreign Service, also passing through the American Embassy in Rome, from 1946 to 1949. Many topics were dealt with in the interview with the author, from the analysis of the economic and social reality in Southern Italy to Atlantic issues and from the Marshall Plan to European integration.
