L' "anamorfosi" di JR a Palazzo Farnese / JR's "anamorphosis" of Palazzo Farnese

This contribution analyses JR's installation entitled "Vanishing Point", created in July 2021 on the main façade of Palazzo Farnese in Rome. The project - a black and white illusory trompe l'oeil that the artist called "anamorphosis" - should be viewed by observers, from the best vantage point, as an enormous gash in the building's façade, revealing several parts of the Palazzo's interior. The objective of the contribution is the study and analysis of the scenic elements and a hypotetical perspective reconstruction of the represented space.

Il contributo analizza l’opera di JR dal titolo “Punto di Fuga”, realizzata nel luglio 2021 sulla facciata principale di Palazzo Farnese a Roma. Il progetto – uno sfondato illusorio in bianco e nero, definito dall’autore “anamorfosi” – si presenta all’occhio dell’osservatore che si posiziona sul punto di vista privilegiato come una enorme frattura della facciata dell’edificio, che permette di ammirare alcune porzioni interne del Palazzo. Obiettivo del contributo è lo studio e l’analisi degli elementi della scena e un’ipotesi di ricostruzione prospettica dello spazio rappresentato.
