Abstract
The practice of estrangement retains an essential political function. It is possible to link this narrative formula to the investigative paths typical of Thing Theory: in this way the perspective guaranteed by the matter can shed light upon the ideological coordinates of capitalist logic, through an inter-pretation of the commodity in a dissident key according to the suggestion of-fered by Francesco Orlando in his Freudian theory of literature. This article, therefore, aims to document the relationship between Šklovskij’s intuition, Thing Theory, and Orlando’s proposal through a close reading of Solid Ob-jects, a short story by Virginia Woolf.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
