Aeneas and the troian topography of Lavinium

In the article, the "Trojan geography" of Lavinium is briefly outlined as defined by the comparison between the ancient sources and the results of the excavations and research conducted by the archaeological mission of the Sapienza University of Rome in the area of today's village of Pratica di Mare (Pomezia - Rome). These excavations have contributed to deepen the archaeological themes connected to the Trojan myth, but above all, they have returned the complex image of a Latin community, from its origins, to Romanization, up to the profound transformations of the imperial age.

Nell'articolo viene brevemente delineata la geografia troiana di Lavinium così come definita dal confronto tra le fonti antiche e i risultati degli scavi e delle ricerche condotte dalla missione archeologica dell'Università La Sapienza di Roma nell'area dell'odierno paese di Pratica di Mare (Pomezia - Roma). Questi scavi hanno contribuito ad approfondire i temi archeologici legati al mito troiano, ma soprattutto hanno restituito l'immagine complessa di una comunità latina, dalle origini, alla romanizzazione, fino alle profonde trasformazioni dell'età imperiale.
