Patrimonio storico e cambiamenti climatici. Il caso Ferrara

The paper develops a topical issue: the management of the historic center, aiming to public spaces regeneration and territorial rebalancing due to natural hazards and climate change. It presents the research outcomes to support THE Municipality of Ferrara on EU Project development. They are a Masterplan and guidelines to adapt the historic centre to heavy rains and heatwaves. The Masterplan focuses on defining ecological-environmental solutions for public urban space. The urban design is a multi-scale operation for constructing a network of places to enhance and protect the entire historic centre, through re-shaping streets, squares, green areas according to a set of nature-based solutions.
