Le rimesse dell’ATAC. Un patrimonio da tutelare e valorizzare

In several fields, due to changes in social, economic and political conditions, buildings that were built for specific uses have seen the stop of the activities for which they were built, have been decommissioned and the lack of rapid conversion has triggered a progressive degradation that makes them fragile points in the urban fabric. This problem also affects the assets of ATAC, which has asked the Municipality to authorize the enhancement and disposal of the assets that are no longer useful for the operation of local public transport. Among these, the sheds, large complexes located in areas first on the periphery of the city and now more central, are examples of a heritage of industrial building, where the need for large span involved the adoption of valuable construction solutions, testify the technical level reached in the twenties of the last century; today they assume historical value and collective memory, having been for years key elements in the host neighborhoods.
