The descriptive cadastre of L’Aquila produced by Ettore Gesualdo in 1550is a very interesting source for in-depth studies on the relationship between thecity and its territory over the centuries. As is well known, the foundation inthe 13th century involved the inhabitants of the contado in a progressive ur-banisation within the city walls, where the so-called localia, spaces that couldbe built on by those who chose to move there, were delineated. The sixteenth-century cadastral survey will be used to analyse the localia of theQuarto diSan Giorgio; such area, as demonstrated by historical maps, have had diffe-rent dynamics of settlement to the rest of the city. Going deeper intowhathas been reconstructed so far, the information that can be deducedfrom thecadastral source makes it possible to obtain a faithful restitutionof the owners, properties, their location and land use. The data allows to investigate the geo-historical continuity of the links between the extra and intus dimensions evenin the 16th century, following the fiscal and administrative separation betweenthe city and the territory.

Abstract
The data allows to investigate the geo-historical continuity of the links between the extra and intus dimensions evenin the 16th century, following the fiscal and administrative separation betweenthe city and the territory.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
