This work wants to contribute to the study of the intertwining of mental images and geometric knowledge in visually impaired pupils. The production of mental images in congenital blinds takes place also and above all through “haptic perception”, which replaces sight. Learning through haptic perception must be guided and perfected and is intertwined with the geometric knowledge gradually acquired. The experience we present, conducted with two girls born blind, sheds light on how theoretical knowledge and guided exploration can interact with possibly lacking mental images.
