Monte Pinu (OT), in Northern Sardinia, occurred after an extreme rainfall event on November, 18th 2013. The collapse, which caused some casualties, is mainly due to collapse of the steel pipe, exacerbated by corrosion on the bottom of the tunnel and the simultaneous softening and washout of the adjacent soil during the rainstorm. In addition, the culverts nearby, alt-hough not collapsed , are in condition of instability or of potential danger. The authors illustrate the collapse features and provide indications on monitoring and consolidation activities to adopt in similar cases.

Abstract
The contribution is about the collapse and the crisis of some corrugated metal culverts with reduced span and the above roadway, along the district road n.38bis in loc. The authors illustrate the collapse features and provide indications on monitoring and consolidation activities to adopt in similar cases.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
