Destino

The concept of destiny operates in various fields that range from religion, through mythical representations, to the most discrepant modern philosophical positions. The term fatum is replaced by that of destiny: while fate cannot be changed and follows an ‘unchangeable’ order – imposed by the divine –, the term destiny, today, can be manipulated because it belongs to human characteristics. It is subordinate to that free will which opposes any predestination.

Il concetto di destino è operante in diversi campi, dalla religione, attraverso le rappresentazioni mitiche, fino alle più discrepanti posizioni filosofiche moderne. Nel tempo il termine fatum viene sostituito da destino: mentre il fato non può essere cambiato e segue un ordine “non modificabile” – dettato dalla divinità –, il destino può essere manipolato poiché esso è definibile dalle azioni umane, è subordinato a quel libero arbitrio che si oppone a qualsiasi predestinazione.
