Since the 1920s, Cesare Tumedei's role in the legal profession was undoubtedly an important one, but he did not limit himself to practicing law. Tumedei embodied, in fact, a typical figure of the lawyer of the liberal and fascist period: politician (elected to the Chamber of Deputies, later appointed to the Chamber of Fasci and Corporations), Undersecretary of the Ministry of Justice, but also legal advisor to the Government, esteemed and prominent professional in the courtroom, as well as consultant to large companies and public bodies. His model as a lawyer was inspired by his mentor Vittorio Scialoja, at whose law firm he worked for some time and who wanted him at the Society of Nations with positions of responsibility. In the process of purge, in 1944, he was first accused of having favored the rise and stay in power of fascism, but later he was acquitted of all charges, thanks to the network of political and professional relationships, also formed by anti-fascists (such as another great jurist, Vittorio Emanuele Orlando) who helped him to clear himself. After the end of the war Tumedei retired from the public scene, dedicating himself entirely to his professional activity always at a high level.

Abstract
After the end of the war Tumedei retired from the public scene, dedicating himself entirely to his professional activity always at a high level.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
