Since the dawn of cinema, the skyscraper has established itself as a constant presence among the ar- chitectural types represented, giving form to the urban landscapes of movies. What is most striking about the skyscraper is its cinematic presence, standing out from the background and often becom- ing a lead actor. The skyscraper is a strongly hierarchical architecture (both in formal and urban roles) and this aspect also reflects social and logical distinctions of power.
