In January 2016 the Municipality of Viterbo decided to commission a research concerning the historic centre of Viterbo from the Department of Architecture and Design of Sapienza, University of Rome. The design group, coordinated by Orazio Carpenzano, was called to elaborate a “guidance document to identify principles and instruments of procedural and technical nature for the redevelopment, enhancement and preservation of the historic centre of Viterbo”
